Title: The Price of the Phoenix
Author: Sondra Marshak and Myrna Culbreath

Released in 1977, this story revolves around the price you would pay for imortality. It brings Kirk, Spock and the Romulan Commander (from The Enterprise Incident) in an unlikely team against an overly-formitable foe, Black Omne.
While the premis of the story is sound, the writing is not to my taste. It is written more like a romance novel. I\'m sure the women authors loved the visualisation of Kirk running around naked for most of the story. There are also too many Kirk/Spock homosexual overtones.

Title: Do Comets Dream
Author: S. P. Somtow

The best advice I could give the author is GET TO THE POINT!!
This story was long and drawn out. With all the detail that was put in, there was a decided lack of explanation for many of the premises (many of which were imaginative if not practicle).
Most of the story was not focused on the TNG main charactors.

Title: Q-Squared
Author: Peter David

The story revolves around the being we love to hate - Q! It is sometimes hard to keep up with as you move between times and dimensions, but you'll love it all the way!

David makes great use of Trek lore and past and present characters and offers some viable explanations about things from TOS.

So shut the door, get comfortable and hang on. Once you start, you won't want this wild ride to stop!

Title: Triangle: Imzadi II
Author: Peter David

He's done it again! This is an excellent follow up to Imzadi. Peter David has become one of my favorite authors! He has a knack for keeping you interested and drawn in.

Imzadi II picks up at the end of "Generations" and follows the dynamics of the Riker/Troy/Worf relationships.

Title: Star Trek: The New Voyages
Author: Various

This is a collection of short stories about the TOS crew. Most of them are good. My favorite is Mind-Sifter by Shirley S. Maiewski.

Title: Imzadi
Author: Peter David

This story takes you forward past the future of All Good Things, and back to when Riker and Troy met, and points in between.

Peter David is an excelent writer and wonderfully captures the charatcers. You won't want to put it down!

Title: Spock, Messiah!
Author: Theodore Cogswell and Charles Spano, Jr.

On an information-gathering mission, the Enterprise crew tests a new neural link technology. Spock's malfunctions leading him to think he's a "fiery revolutionary".

This was a good (pre-STTMP) story with believable situations and a good twist at the end.

Title: The Final Nexus
Author: Gene DeWeese

Not a bad read, but a little reaching at some points.

Title: Enterprise: The First Adventure
Author: Vonda N. McIntyre

DON'T BOTHER
This book chronicals the first mission after Captain Kirk takes command of the Enterprise.

This book really bites! The author take great liberties with the charaters - including having Kirk doing horseback circus tricks.

In the early days, when S.T. novels got approved, Gene would have shot it down.

Title: Immortal Coil
Author: Jeffrey Lang

This is a Data story that examines his origins. Lang makes good use of prior Star Trek universe characters. The story mostly moves well and is intriguing.
